I am a contemporary artist and writer of fiction living in Trinidad, creating for over 15 years.  My art has a strong psychological focus, used as a form of self-therapy. I share an experience or moment with my audience viscerally – to communicate a feeling, paradox or idea, even when in absence of an explanation. Most of my work is based on personal experience and some is influenced by the work I have done with various NGOs.

My contemporary art practice and adult fiction questions domestic, social, and sociopolitical conflicts and concerns. The work can be unsettling and upsetting at times as it seeks to be honest, even raw, in confronting specific emotions and circumstances. You are either left with a strong emotion, questions that demand self-inspection, or strong visual imagery or concepts that intend to feed the subconscious towards deeper contemplation and impact.

Outside of my personal art and writing career, I own a creative business ‘Trinidad Home Studio Ltd’ and founded a not -for-profit, ‘Summer Heroes’ in 2012. I also partner with my husband in writing customizable local stories for children under ‘Imagination Keepsakes.’
